Project 52

Yes, I know I am starting this late...meaning not at the beginning of the year...however, there are always 52 weeks in year no matter when you start, right?  Ha ha...

So here is the challenge:  Take and edit 1 photo to showcase a great moment during your week and post it here with a short summary of what it is and how it came about.

Stay tuned for GREATNESS and the adventures of my life!  :)

So, I started my project 52 today!  It was a bit challenging because I was trying to get in a few shots before all light for the day was gone.  We took Channon out for a walk at Beaver Lake Park around 8:00 p.m. and I was able to take this fantastic shot at the lake!!  Take a look and let me know what you think!

On August 5th, I flew back to Salt Lake City, UT to visit friends and attend a couple of weddings.  One of the weddings that I attended was for a dear friend, Cat Rogers (now Buchta) and this is where I captured this amazing photo!

Cat, her husband Nathan, and their officiant were bowing their heads to bless the communion they were partaking in and I just couldn't resist capturing the moment!  I hope you enjoy the photo!

Okay, so I know that technically this photo should be in this week's post but I was unable to get out and get any photos taken until Sunday!! So, Sunday's photo will be going up for last week's entry! :)

We met up with my Dad to go fishing on Sunday morning in the Cascades and unfortunately had NO luck in catching any fish!! However, we all seemed to catch quite a few of the sun's rays and are developing lovely tans!! :)  This was also very interesting/challenging for me as I took my Canon Point & Shoot camera (so as not to do any damage to my DSLR)!  I wasn't quite sure how to act with the camera...do I hold it to my eye?...do I hold it away from me?...how do I focus it?...I'm sure it was sight to see!!  ha ha ha

Enjoy the photo from Cooper Lake!

On Saturday, Ryan and I took Channon to Twin Falls State Park and went on a hike. We thought it was going to be a fairly easy hike...boy were we wrong!! We almost thought I wasn't going to make it back! My knee started hurting so bad and wouldn't bend anymore...which made walking back down all the hills quite challanging! Channon even decided at the top that he was done and just laid down in the middle of the bridge. We had to coax him back to his feet and began the trip back to the truck!

Despite being tired and in pain, we all made it and I was able to take some beautiful pictures!! So, all in all, it was totally worth it!! Enjoy my pic of the week of one of the falls we came upon.

We decided to go to Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Gardens to see what it had to offer one afternoon.  Although it was on the small side, it held some very unique treasures!  If you walk across the locks and head toward the fish ladders, you will find a little sitting area that had some amzing metal sculptures!  This is where I found my inspiration for this week's photo.

I wanted to play around and practice with my focusing and this is what I got.  Enjoy!
